CEZANNE 2015 QUARTER HORSE MARE
I’m looking for an active rider to care lease Cezanne. Whatcom and Skagit County, WA only, please. A competition home is preferred but not required. She’s too much fun to just sit.
Cezanne is a 2015 black Quarter Horse mare. She was born on our farm to my husband’s mare. I’ve trained her, from the ground up, to both ride and drive. She’s been a part of our training program her entire life. She’s only green broke to drive and hates it. She MUCH prefers riding. Because the focus of my training program is driving, she’s sitting too much. This is why I’m looking for a rider for her. We will never sell her, she’s too precious to us, but we’d love to share her with a special rider.
She will be EXCELLENT as a WAHSET horse. She’s been ridden by several WAHSET and WWU Equestrian Team riders. She does everything you expect from a competition horse. She loads easily, stands tied for hours, has camped off the side of our trailer (she’s never high-lined but won’t be an issue), clips, bathes (hates cold water baths), easy keeper (needs and comes with a muzzle), no maintenance, goes barefoot but needs boots on gravel and rocky trails (she does not come with boots).
Cezanne goes English and western, with a classical dressage foundation. She’s very versatile and willing to try new things. She has advanced skills in ground training, including roundpenning, lunging, longlinging/double lunging, ground driving, in-hand obstacles. She’s good in the arena and on trails. She’s been overnight camping, cattle sorting, fox hunting (not a jumper but she’ll pop over small stuff), and to local shows. I intended to take her to Fair, last year, but schedule conflicts nixed that plan. She’s very versatile. She’s not fast enough for gaming and she’s too lazy to do any serious jumping. but she can certainly try hard enough to make High Point a possibility. Ride with purpose!
She requires a confident rider, intermediate or above. She tests every rider that gets on, me included. It’s a 5 minute discussion about who’s the boss then you’re good to go. She’s been ridden by many different interns, over the years.
Cezanne is an alpha mare, top of the pecking order. She has both girlfriends and boyfriends, depending on her mood. She is super-sweet with humans and is quick to warm up and cuddle. She has a devilish side and will sass you but immediately behaves if you tell her to quit. This is why she needs a confident handler but you don’t have to be an advanced rider.
As titled, a care lease requires the leasee to pay for the care of the horse. No money is paid to me for her use. You love and care for her as if she were your own, I just retain ownership. ‘This ‘Care’ includes but is not limited to; feed, farrier, vet, board (if not kept at your home. I do regular site visits.), show entry fees, training and lessons, etc. I strongly encourage taking regular riding lessons. I no longer teach riding but will help you find someone, if you don’t already have a favorite trainer. We’ll also come cheer you on at local events!

FC BLACK TIE AFFAIR “Brody” 2011 AMHR 38″ GELDING $5,000
CART PONY EXTRAORDINAIRE!
Brody is a 13 year old AMHR Miniature gelding who was born to drive! He LOVES IT! For that reason, he is only available to a home who plans to drive! A lot! Don’t get me wrong, he can sit for 2 months and be solid and steady, but he loves it too much to let him sit. We’ve developed him to be successful in Combined Driving (CDE), Driven Dressage, Recreational Driving, Distance Driving, Trail Driving, and the like. He’s AHMR and can certainly do breed shows, but that’s not my world. He can also be registered pinto and do color shows. A competition home is encouraged but not required.

Personality-wise, Brody has a typical pony’tude. He does well with large horses but can be a bully to some ponies/minis. He can get too food oriented so we don’t do treats. He can be pushy if you let him be, but is completely perfect for those who command attention….truly, a typical pony. He has a great work ethic. He LOVES to drive so is happy to go. He has 3 lovely trots, making him very adjustable. I think this would make him a good candidate as a pair. His working walk is nice but needs work on extending on a loose rein. We do lots of work on transitions, including the toughies trot-whoa-trot and walk-canter-walk. He needs work on bit contact. He’s 38″ and about 275lbs. He’s conditioned to pull 500lbs comfortably, on mixed surfaces and on hills. We’ve done over 100 road miles and dozens and dozens of drives in the past year.
